There comes a moment when your name is finally called.
The opportunity arrives.
The prayer is answered.
The conversation you've been hoping for finally happens.
The door you've been staring at for months—or maybe years—begins to open.
In that moment, it's easy to think...
"Finally."
But looking back, I've come to believe something different.
It wasn't finally.
It was exactly on time.
We Spend So Much Energy Watching the Clock
Waiting has a way of making us impatient.
We compare our timelines to everyone else's.
We wonder why their careers seem to move faster.
Why their businesses seem to grow sooner.
Why opportunities seem to find them before they find us.
We start believing that timing is working against us.
But what if it isn't?
What if timing has been working for us all along?

Over the past several weeks we've explored what it means to wait well.
We learned that waiting isn't passive.
It's watching.
We discovered that alignment matters more than urgency.
We talked about carrying multiple callings without neglecting what matters most.
We learned to steward what has been entrusted to us.
We embraced progress that couldn't yet be seen.
We committed to staying ready before opportunity arrived.
Each lesson seemed different.
But they were all leading to one truth.
Trust the timing.
Because timing isn't simply about when opportunity comes.
Timing is about when you're ready to carry it.
Looking Back, I Can See It
As I reflect on my own journey, there were seasons I desperately wanted to rush.
Jobs I wanted sooner.
Conversations I wanted to happen faster.
Doors I wanted opened immediately.
At the time...
Waiting felt like resistance.
Now I see it was refinement.
The experiences I thought were interruptions became preparation.
The setbacks became perspective.
The uncertainty became confidence.
The waiting room wasn't keeping me from my future.
It was introducing me to the person I'd need to become when I arrived.
Timing Is About Capacity, Not Convenience
One of the hardest leadership lessons I've learned is this:
Sometimes we're asking for an opportunity.
Life is preparing us for the responsibility that comes with it.
Those aren't the same thing.
Opportunity can be given overnight.
Capacity takes time.
Character takes time.
Wisdom takes time.
Discernment takes time.
Trust takes time.
The waiting room isn't punishment.
It's preparation.
Leaving the Waiting Room
Eventually every waiting room opens.
Not because we forced the door.
Not because we perfectly planned every step.
But because the season accomplished what it came to accomplish.
When I think back on the waiting rooms in my own life...
I no longer remember them as seasons of delay.
I remember them as seasons of becoming.
Perhaps that's why I no longer fear waiting the way I once did.
Because I know something now that I didn't know then.
The waiting room is never where life stops.
It's where life quietly changes us.
One Final Thought
If you're reading this while you're still waiting...
Don't rush the process.
Don't compare your timeline.
Don't mistake silence for absence.
Keep learning.
Keep serving.
Keep growing.
Keep trusting.
One day you'll look back—not with frustration over how long it took—but with gratitude that it happened exactly when it did.
Because the right opportunity, at the wrong time, can become a burden.
But the right opportunity, at the right time...
becomes a blessing.
And that's why we trust the timing.
