The Proof Points That Strengthen Your Confidence
Dear Readers,
It’s one thing to say, “I believe in myself.”
It’s another to know why—and to have the receipts to back it up.
This week in The Storyteller, we’re talking about validated belief:
The moments, memories, and evidence that reinforce your confidence—even when fear tries to rewrite your story.

Why You Need Validated Belief
Belief isn’t just about self-talk.
It’s about building a library of evidence you can return to when doubt gets loud.
✅ That time you stepped up and led a tough project
✅ The team that rallied because of your voice
✅ The moment you surprised yourself by thriving under pressure
✅ The feedback or encouragement that confirmed what you’re capable of
These are your proof points—your personal archive of impact.
And when fear shows up—you need something stronger than memory. You need proof.

Fear Degrades Belief—Even When It Shouldn’t
Let’s talk about fear.
You’ve probably heard the acronym:
F.E.A.R. = False Evidence Appearing Real.
Fear feels real—even when it’s not.
You could bomb one presentation… and suddenly question your entire ability to lead or communicate.
But what about the 10+ times you:
Delivered with excellence
Received affirming feedback
Walked out of the room with clarity and pride?
That one “bad” moment becomes the loudest memory—if you let it.
But if you’ve been doing the work, you have evidence that’s louder.

3 Ways to Validate Your Belief System
1️⃣ Keep a “Belief File”
Collect small wins, emails, notes, or moments that remind you:
“You’re more prepared and powerful than fear wants you to believe.”
Store it digitally or in a journal—and revisit it when you forget who you are.
2️⃣ Name What You’ve Overcome
Write down three moments you got through something difficult and came out stronger.
Remember what that taught you about your strength, presence, or clarity.
🧠 Belief needs reminders. Resilience leaves receipts.
3️⃣ Borrow Belief from Those Who See You Clearly
Ask a mentor or close friend:
“What’s something you’ve seen in me that I need to remember?”
Often, others have a better memory of our impact than we do. Let their words speak louder than your temporary fear.
Journal Prompt
✍🏽 “One moment that reminds me I’m built for more is…”
Write it out. Then revisit it when fear tries to take the mic.
